Prescriptive Fitness Certified Personal Training and Consulting has been serving the Harris YMCA and surrounding community since 1998. We offer custom programs designed for individuals of all ages, genders, and levels of fitness. Our trainers are available to travel to our clients homes or fitness facility (assuming the fitness facility allows or permits).Our mission statement has been and remains to empower, motivate, and educate our clients in order to improve their quality of life by helping them reach their goals.
Paul Sklar, CSCS, ACSM, HFI
Paul is the founder and Personal Training Director of Prescriptive Fitness. He is certified by the National Strength and Conditioning Association as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and as a Health and Fitness Instructor (HFI) by the American College of Sports Medicine and has been professionally training training since 1993. Paul holds a BS in Exercise and Sports Science from Wake Forest University, where he received a track scholarship and was a two time All-ACC selection in track and field. He was World Duathlon Age group bronze medalist at the 1996 World Championships before becoming the 2nd ranked short course professional duathlete in the United States in 2000. He is also an accomplished cyclist and runner.
Paul began his professional career as an exercise physiologist at the prestigious Excelsior Athletic Club in NYC in 1993. He soon ventured out on his own and began training his clients at the US Athletic Training Center in NYC, which he used as a home base for his personal training services for the next four years.
In 1998, Paul moved to Charlotte and started Prescriptive Fitness, which has since grown from 4 trainers to 15 Nationally Certified trainers.
In addition to directing a full time personal training business and staying fit, Paul has three boys: Harrison 10, Ryan, 8 and Jake, 6.
Paul specializes in aspiring and changing peoples lives. He is a leading authority on weight loss, cardiovascular and strength conditioning. Paul accepts a limited number of clients. Please email for rates and availability
