Jim Miller

Jim has been a top level personal trainer with Prescriptive Fitness since 2000. He is a graduate of San Francisco State University and is a former U.S. Navy Corpsman who served in the Gulf War. Jim is certified through the American Council on Exercise and specializes in strength training, weight loss and muscle toning. Jim also designs programs for his running clients that emphasize strength, endurance and speed-based training. His training programs encompass any distance from 5K to Ultra marathons. Jim has competed in 25 half marathons and 11 marathons and enjoys helping others achieve positive outcomes through exercise. In addition to running, he also enjoys skiing, walking his dogs, hiking, and fishing.

Marc Arnone, CSCS

Marc is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) in 2001. He is a graduate of Elon College, where he obtained his Bachelors of Science in Exercise Sports Science and was a defensive back for the football team from 1996-1999. He went to work for HealthSouth physical therapy for three years developing weight training programs for rehabilitation patients and also worked with their speed and acceleration program. While working for HealthSouth, he started working at the University YMCA as a personal trainer.

In 2002, Marc started working for Prescriptive Fitness. He specializes in functional training, weight loss, sport specific training, speed and agility, and post rehabilitation. Marc has worked with children, adults, and senior citizens. He has trained an Olympic athlete and professional athletes from the NFL, NBA, and NASCAR.

In the fall of 2006, Marc was hired as the full time personal trainer for NASCAR driver Tony Stewart. This link gives more insight into his job. Marc returned to Prescriptive Fitness in the fall of 2007.

Sandy Kanellos, Certified Prenatal Trainer

Sandy has been involved in the fitness industry for over 5 years. She has competed and excelled in various tri-fitness competitions. Her love and interest in health and fitness has led her to inspire others to better their health. She is certified through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) as both a Personal Trainer and Corrective Exercise Specialist. Sandy is truly passionate about training. She is dedicated to motivating and educating others to reach their fitness goals, through proper nutrition and exercise.

Pam Cornelius

Pam  is not only a  Personal Trainer, but is also a Registered Dietician, and has been assisting, supporting, teaching, coaching, and inspiring clients in the wellness field for 15 years. She helps busy clients balance food and fitness for optimum wellness. Pam has served on the board of the Charlotte Dietetic Association for 3 years, the American Dietetic Association Nutrition Entrepreneurs for 1 year has served on committees of the North Carolina Dietetics Association.

Pam holds a BS in exercise science from Kansas State University and is an MS degree candidate at Winthrop University in South Carolina. As a wellness coordinator for a local department of aging she was responsible for planning, marketing and implementing wellness programs for older adults. As a bariatric nutritionist she works with patients that are having or who have had weight loss surgery, helping them create a healthy lifestyle. And as a personal trainer, she uses circuit training to keep busy folks fit!

She is certified by the National Academy of Sports Medicine and is a member of the IDEA fitness association. She is licensed with the NC Board of Dietetics and Nutrition and is a member of the American Dietetic Association and its Weight Management, Nutrition in Complementary Care and Nutrition Entrepreneurs dietetic practice groups . In her spare time she enjoys yoga and cooking, and has volunteered for Girls on the Run, a community based, self-esteem building running program.

Jill Perry

Jill’s passion for fitness and enhancing other people’s lives comes through in the enthusiasm she displays while training her clients, teaching group/team exercise classes and Boot Camps. She brings with her an insatiable appetite to help others in their own personal quest for health and fitness. Dedication and motivation are the two key elements for Jill’s success. Jill is a devoted Professional Trainer who provides the ultimate in physical fitness, catered specifically to the clients desired level of capability and beyond.

Jill is a former high school All- American soccer player and attended the  University of Central Florida on a soccer scholarship and received her BA from Wingate University.

Eric Johnson (EJ)

EJ is a former Professional Football/Baseball Player and is a certified personal trainer through International Fitness Association(IFA). He graduated from Western Carolina University in 1999, where he earned All-American honors in football as well as All-Conference honors in baseball . In 1999 EJ was drafted by the Cleveland Indians. After playing three years of minor baseball, he decided to go back and play for the Chicago Bears in 2001-2002.

EJ joined Prescriptive Fitness 2006 after retiring from professional athletics. He specializes in functional training, weight loss, sport specific training, speed and agility, and post rehabilitation. EJ has worked with children, adults, and senior citizens. Hank Stratton-Brook

Hank’s outgoing personality and excitement for fitness make him a leader in the health and fitness industry. Hank is always upbeat and ready to give every client he trains his best each and every time.

His desire to learn and grow as a professional in his field makes him one of the most knowledgeable trainers in Charlotte.
Hank grew up in London and moved to Florida in 1985. While in Florida he began working as a Financial Planner. His life path brought him to Charlotte in 1990. He left the Financial Planning business after 14 years to pursue a career in the fitness industry, his true passion.

Over the past several years, Hank studied kickboxing and other disciplines of Martial Arts. He has studied various forms including Jeet Kune Do, Muay Thai, and Jujitsu. He received his group exercise certification and instructed Cardio Kickboxing classes at the Charlotte Martial Arts Academy and at the Dowd YMCA. A full time certified personal trainer who is certified by the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA), Hank also runs Carolina Boot Camps.

Hank’s excellent motivation skills and extensive knowledge base makes him an outstanding instructor and trainer. He works well with all fitness levels and enjoys seeing his clients reach and surpass their fitness goals. Hank’s personal passion for health and wellness is certainly contagious. Hanks other passions include spending time with his daughters, riding his motorcycle and skydiving.

Mary Franceschi

Mary holds a bachelors in Nutrition/Dietetics and has over 5 years personal training experience. She is certified through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). Mary excels at group, sport specific, and weight loss training, and she loves working with people from all walks of life. She exemplifies the athletic lifestyle, competing in dozens of marathons and triathlons, most recently conquering her first Ironman (Florida). Mary came to Prescriptive Fitness in 2005 and has become a highly sought after trainer for her energy, friendly demeanor, and flexibility of schedule.

Joe Schriffen

is originally from Long Island, New York and attended Springfield College in Massachusetts where he earned his bachelors degree in Exercise Physiology. Joe also attended Southeastern School of Massage locally in Charlotte and is a licensed Massage Therapist in his free time. He has been living in Charlotte for the past eleven years and has worked as a personal trainer for the past twelve years. He is also a Certified Golf Fitness Instructor through the Titleist Performance Institute and specializes in golf fitness and enjoys working with all populations from children to seniors.

Marsha Aurelius

Marsha has lived in Charlotte for 19 years and has worked in the fitness industry for 16 years. She received her certification through National Academy of Sports Medicine(NASM) in 1997.She has continued her education taking classes with experts such as nutritionist Nancy Clark, and exercise scientist/ researcher Len Kravitz;.Marsha has worked with a variety of clients - men, women and teens, from sports conditioning to post rehab, and worked with active older adults. She specializes in working with busy, active women trying to stay healthy and enjoy life. As a mother and weekend athlete Marsha feels that it is important to help others stay conditioned and prevent injuries so that they can take care of their family and participate in the activities they love.

Jodi Gorman

Jodi’s professional background is in education where she holds a masters of educational administration. Having taught preschool through undergraduate college levels, as well as parent-child classes, Jodi works well with people of all ages and backgrounds. Her positive outlook and passion for life is a central part of her success.

With over 10 years of personal training experience, and over 20 years of group exercise instruction, Jodi’s current specialty is small group circuit training and wellness for women. She holds certifications in NASM personal training, AFAA personal training, AFAA group exercise, SPINNING, SCHWINN cycling/coaching, and the CPR basic safety series.

In addition to training her client friends and teaching spinning classes, Jodi enjoys spending time with her daughter, Gabrielle, an avid figure skater. She also loves cycling, walking, skiing, hiking, traveling, time with friends, and lots of time at the beach!

Diane Stoner

Diane has always had a passion for sports and outdoor activities. She completed her first marathon in 1991 and has continued to pursue her passion as a distance runner over the years, including the Boston Marathon. Her focus is now geared toward triathlons. When she's not on the run or training for a triathlon, Diane maintains an active lifestyle by rock climbing and scuba diving. Diane Stoner is certified by the National Academy of Sports Medicine(NASM). Diane incorporates her passion for fitness and health into each client. Diane structures a workout plan that will be most appropriate for her clients by focusing on their needs.

Jeremy Burke

Jeremy holds a  BA in Exercise and Sports Science from UNC Chapel Hill and has over 6 years personal training experience. He is certified through AFAA , the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America. Jeremy specializes in Weight Management and total lifestyle change  and enjoys helping other make positive lifestyle changes that impact their lives.

Ashley Smith

Ashley is the newest member of the Prescriptive Training group. She is a graduate of Miami University with a B.S. in Marketing. After a successful career as a medical supply sales manager she became a stay at home mother. She has always been active in sports and passionate about exercise but only recently decided to pursue a career as a personal trainer. She is certified by both the highly regarded National Strength and Conditioning Association as well as the World Instructor Training Schools.
