Too Much Calcium?
In conjunction with ingesting the proper amount of calcium in your diet, one of the best things that woman can do to help improve bone density and avoid serious fractures later in life is resistance (strength) training. Resistance training helps build strong muscles and puts positive stress on the bones which in turn helps to strengthen them. Women who only perform cardiovascular exercise are at a disadvantage with regard to increased bone strength versus women who incorporate strength training into their exercise program. Using a trainer that incorporates “balance training” with resistance training is provides an added benefit. The use of wobble boards, Bosu trainers, stability balls, resistance bands, jam balls, and medicine balls can add a completely new dimension to your workouts and provide you with the physical “tools” to stay fit and healthy into your golden years.
